[Practice] Write Dialog for a Short-Film

(Thanks to my mentor, Xadie, for this)

LEVEL: Intermediate to Advanced

TIME: 20 minutes

PURPOSE: Writing practice, Language application to context

PREPARATION + MATERIALS:

  • Short Film without dialog. There are multiple of these on youtube.
  • Paper and writing instruments for students (or discussion board)

GOAL: Students write dialog for a short film that doesn’t have it.

ACTIVITY:

This can be done individually or (preferably) in groups of 2-3 students.

Students are explained the activity. Hand out paper at this time or set up discussion board where they will be writing their text.

Students then watch the given short film and collaborate with their group members to come up with dialog for the characters in the story.
